Semi-Annual Dinner Takeaways

On October 17th, we donned our blazers, pencil skirts, and black flats for the Semi-Annual Formal dinner. Each seat was marked by a colorful ‘free photo book’ coupon, graciously given by our speakers, Vanessa and Nate Quigley, the co-founders of Chatbooks.

Vanessa and Nate shared with us their successes, triumphs, struggles, and failures in creating a family and creating a successful business. Their story began in Helaman Halls, but they also lived in Paris, Los Angeles, Harvard Square, and Florida before returning to Utah Valley.

The Quigleys spoke about the need for a solid partnership in business, specifically with entrepreneurial ventures. Their 4 main points were the following:

  1. You need a co-founder.
  2. Pick the right co-founder.
  3. Be good to your co-founder.
  4. Be grateful every day.

Whether in the workplace, or the home, these are solid mandates to live by. We are also grateful to our sponsors for the night, Swire Coca-Cola. Many of our members had the opportunity to meet some of their employees and were educated and inspired by them.
